My name is Tyler Boyd- I was born and raised in the small town of Richland, Michigan—a close-knit community that shaped much of who I am. After graduating from high school, I left home to attend the University of Colorado, where I earned my degree and began building a life of independence and growth. Eventually, I made my way to Chicago, immersing myself in the tech industry and developing a career that would span over 15 years. Life led me back to Michigan, where I continued working in the tech space, closer to home and family, carrying with me the lessons and experience of my professional journey.

On July 5th, 2020, a decision I made changed everything. In a tragic moment, the lives of many were impacted, and one life was lost. I was charged with Marine Safety—Causing Death and suddenly found myself facing the possibility of a 15-year prison sentence. With the support of my family and a dedicated legal team, I did everything in my power to navigate the legal process with honesty and accountability. Ultimately, I accepted a plea deal that resulted in a prison sentence—an experience that would deeply shape who I am today and why this work means so much to me.
I was released from prison on June 13th, 2023. Since that day, I’ve been rebuilding my life with intention and purpose. I launched a new career rooted in a program I was introduced to while incarcerated—one that gave me hope and direction at a time when I needed it most. I married the love of my life, and I’ve moved back into the very community where my offense took place. My journey has ignited a deep passion for helping others, especially those navigating the justice system for the first time. Through Another Day Down, I aim to provide the guidance, resources, and honesty that I wish I had during the darkest moments of my life.
